Open Enrollment for 2012
We are actively accepting new members into the Park Avenue Youth Chorale. You are invited to explore this page to find out more about our organization and what is expected of potential new members. NO ONE IS TURNED AWAY based on lack of prior training. We actively seek youth from across New York City and beyond who have a desire to develop their musical and vocal skills within a group setting.
Please contact Joseph Hudson to schedule a time to visit one of our rehearsals.

New Information is here!
Greetings current and prospective Youth Chorale families. I am slowly but surely getting the hang of blogging and have updated many of the pages here with new information, a few photos and a couple of video clips. I hope you will all enjoy seeing (and hearing) yourselves on the WEB!
Look for individual posts soon about the Winter Children’s Choir Festival, our trip to see Mary Poppins on Broadway and our upcoming performance in Noye’s Fludde with the musicians at St. Bartholomew’s Church here in NYC.

Strangers and Other Angels
Last Saturday the Park Avenue Youth Chorale participated in “Strangers and Other Angels,” an adaptation of a medieval Mystery Play which was performed outdoors! We moved from Sakura Park to the courtyard of Union Seminary with almost 50 actors, singers, dancers and instrumentalists from Compagnia Colombari. We rehearsed throughout the week with Karin Coonrod, the director of the piece, playing chimes to signal the presence of the angel Gabriel, announcing “Gaudete” to the crazy shepherds and singing “Good Christian Friends, Rejoice” as we took over the street as we walked to the Seminary. It was an amazing experience for all involved; for many of us it was our first theatrical production ever. And some of us got to wear fun, technicolor angel wings!
Check the photo gallery for some great photos of the day.
And be sure to join us for our next public performance at A Park Avenue Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 21 at 7:30 p.m. It’s free and open to the public.
